Muthaiga Golf Club’s Njoroge Kibugu claimed victory at the fourth leg of the PGK Equator Tour after posting a four-round total of 269, finishing 15-under-par at Nyali Golf & Country Club in Mombasa.

Kibugu outperformed a field of 49 golfers to secure the title and strengthen his position in the race for qualification to the 2027 Magical Kenya Open and the 2028 Olympic Games.

“It was a great tournament, and I am pleased with how I played. The competition was very tough, and I am delighted to come away with the win. This victory gives me confidence heading into the next leg of the tour,” said Kibugu.

Greg Snow finished second on 279, five-under-par, while Daniel Nduva placed third with a total of 280, four-under-par.

Malik Taimur finished fourth on 282, followed by Mutahi Kibugu on 284 and Samuel Njoroge on 286. David Wakhu and Edwin Mudanyi tied for seventh on 287, while Michael Karanga and Isaiah Otuke shared ninth place after carding 288.

The victory moved Kibugu to seventh on the PGK Equator Tour Order of Merit with 1,290 points.

Samuel Njoroge continues to lead the standings with 2,377 points, ahead of Dismas Indiza on 1,890 points and Greg Snow on 1,720 points.

The tour now heads to Ruiru Sports Club for the fifth leg of the season, where players will continue competing for crucial Order of Merit points as they chase qualification for the 2027 Magical Kenya Open and the 2028 Olympic Games.
