Low-cost airline Jambojet has surpassed the 10 million passenger mark, marking a key milestone as it continues to expand its footprint in Kenya’s domestic aviation market.
The airline said it reached the milestone last week when a passenger arriving from Eldoret became its 10 millionth customer since the carrier began operations.
The achievement comes amid steady growth for the airline, which now commands a 57 percent share of Kenya’s domestic travel market across the routes it serves.
Jambojet currently operates daily flights to seven destinations with up to 380 weekly flights, serving both business and leisure travellers.
Chief Executive Officer Karanja Ndegwa said the milestone reflects growing customer confidence in the airline and reinforces its focus on providing reliable and affordable air travel.
The airline operates a fleet of 11 De Havilland Dash 8-Q400 aircraft and says it plans to continue expanding connectivity as demand for domestic air travel grows.
The milestone highlights the continued recovery and growth of Kenya’s aviation sector, driven by increasing demand for regional and domestic travel.

Jambojet currently operates scheduled flights from its main hub at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi, Ukunda and Lamu. The airline also operates flights from Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret alongside cargo services across its network.
Since its launch in April 2014, Jambojet has expanded its fleet to 11 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft and carried more than 10 million passengers, with the airline saying 44 percent of them were first-time flyers.
The carrier received the International Air Transport Association’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification in 2019, an internationally recognised airline safety standard, and has been named Africa’s Leading Low Cost Airline for four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025.
