SGA Security Wins DEI Champion Award at Kenya ESG Awards

SGA Security Kenya Event Strategist, Anne Kamau, Group ESG and Communications Manager, Josephine Wanjiru and KENCTAD Director & ESG Lead, Sebastian Davies Ngida during the 3rd Kenya ESG Awards, where SGA Security Kenya was honoured with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Champion Award.

SGA Security Kenya has been recognized for its leadership in social sustainability after winning the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Champion Award at the Kenya ESG Awards.

The honor, presented during the third edition of the awards, recognizes organizations that are embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into their operations in measurable and impactful ways.

The company has introduced deliberate policies aimed at creating opportunities for women to enter the security industry and advance in their careers.

“Our approach to inclusion goes beyond representation. We are focused on building systems and policies that support equity, safety, and long-term career growth for our workforce. This includes flexible work arrangements designed to support working mothers, a zero-tolerance framework on harassment and discrimination, and structured leadership development programs tailored to female personnel. By embedding these measures into our organizational culture, inclusion is treated not as an initiative, but as a core business practice,” said Josephine Wanjiru.

Through these initiatives, the company has positioned itself as a benchmark for inclusive growth in the region, demonstrating how intentional policy design and strong governance structures can foster cultural transformation in the workplace.

The DEI Champion award places SGA Security among a growing number of organisations in East Africa championing responsible business leadership through people-centred policies and inclusive workplace practices.

Founded more than 55 years ago, SGA Security is part of a regional security solutions group operating in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania with nearly 20,000 employees.
