Mabeya Davis June 10, 2025 1 minute read

Popular Nairobi-based restaurant Mama Rocks Burger Kitchen Limited is facing a petition for liquidation, according to a gazette notice published on May 5, 2025.

The petition was filed by Samantha Amimo Mwedeckeli through her legal representatives, Madhani Advocates LLP.

It was lodged with the High Court’s Commercial and Tax Division on October 16, 2024, under Insolvency Cause No. E71 of 2024. The case seeks to have the company liquidated under the provisions of the Insolvency Act, 2015.

According to the notice, the matter is set to be heard at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on June 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

Creditors or contributors to the company who wish to oppose the petition are invited to attend the hearing, either in person or through legal representation.

Mama Rocks, known for its Afro-inspired gourmet burgers, has been a prominent name in Nairobi’s fast-food scene, especially popular among youth and expatriates in the city.
