NAIROBI, KENYA, OCTOBER 17- The World Health Organization (WHO) has pledged to medically support both Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory and calls out for an end of the atrocities that are causing untold suffering in Israel and the Gaza strip.

In a statement released by the organization shows it’s concern over the hospitals and medical facilities which are struggling to keep running and risk shuttering soon due to lack of supplies.

“In the Gaza Strip, hospitals are running on back-up generators with fuel likely to run out in the coming days. They have exhausted the supplies that the organization pre-positioned before the escalation,” read the report which was released by WHO.

The organization’s Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on 9th of October and agreed to use the Rafah Crossing to facilitate the delivery of health and other humanitarian supplies to Gaza victims.

further WHO also states that it is also working to obtain medical supplies locally to meet demand and are preparing supplies from it’s global medical logistics hub in Dubai UAE

WHO also expresses it’s concern especially on the health of the vulnerable hostages captured from Israel by Hamas.

“WHO is also gravely concerned about the health and well-being of hostages, including elderly civilians, seized from Israel by Hamas in attacks. The hostages’ health and medical needs must be addressed immediately, and we call for their safe release,” reads the report.

WHO through the report, feels the pain of families who lost over 1000 of their beloved ones and also hundreds who were left injured as a result of the inhuman acts of violence by the Hamas when they bombed Israel.
