Apartment hotel chain Trianum Hospitality is planning to expand its operations across East Africa as it marks its 15th year in business.

Co-founder Samantha Muna said the company will rely on global brand partnerships to strengthen market distribution and improve the value of its managed properties.

“Leveraging global brand partnerships is one of key strategies to drive distribution and enhance the value of the properties we manage,” she said.

The firm manages apartment hotels, shared ownership properties operated through rental pools, and other hospitality ventures. Its portfolio includes Nest and Nomad Homestays in Machakos, Kilifi, Nyeri, and Nanyuki, boutique lifestyle hotels, and Scapes The Restaurant, which has two locations.

In serviced apartments, Trianum runs Executive Residences by Best Western, Westside Drive, Uwazi Place in Kitisuru, Cozy Residences and Feather Residences in Kilimani-Kileleshwa, Harry Heights, LC Ridge in Spring Valley, and Lavington Residency. Two of the properties operate under the Best Western brand.

Chief Executive Liza Uku said growth will be supported by investment in human resources and operational systems.

“For us, it’s people and investing in the right people as we move forward. And yes, building structures, operational structures in order to be able to move forward,” she said.

Trianum is also pursuing partnerships in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and other East African countries. Its entry into Rwanda, initially planned for 2020, was delayed until 2024, when Trianum Century Rwanda Limited was registered.
