Liverpool beats Brighton 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday before a goalless draw between Arsenal and Manchester City.
Manchester United was unable to see the game out at Brentford despite Mason Mount’s late goal as Kristoffer Ajer struck again later to secure a draw for the otherwise dominant Bees.
Newcastle had already beaten West Ham in a 4-3 thriller to put pressure on David Moyes and his team in the race for European qualification. The fight to qualify for Europe and overcome the drop took center stage on Saturday.
Tottenham came from behind to beat Luton, while Chelsea played Burnley at home. Nottingham Forest also saved an important point against Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth also beat Everton and Fulham by two goals to drop back to bottom with Sheffield United.
The zero-goal tie between Arsenal and Manchester City answers a few questions about where this year’s Premier League is headed.

The Gunners only had 27 percent to focus on deep defense and attack, a system that gradually became less threatening as the game progressed. Gabriel Jesus – making his first start in two months – fired home in the eighth minute before another effort went wide after Ben White’s fine finish from the right.
At the other end, City kept the Arsenal goal under control as they tested David Raya to the hilt, with only a pointless header from the upright Nathan Ake and the keeper skipping past the defense. The second half opened with Jesus leaping wide after Bukayo Saka’s cross, only for Manuel Akanji to chase him down well and miss the goal.
City’s pressure continued to build, however, with Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish brought on by Pep Guardiola, but they only managed one shot in the entire game. It would have been at least one more if it wasn’t for Erling Haaland who mysteriously pulled away from the post as the ball fell to him far from a corner, the tall Norwegian could have cleared it from Raya’s runs to his head.
The season leaves Liverpool dominating the Premier League, but Arsenal could at least get a win in the lower table between the three title contenders, winning two and drawing two, against Liverpool and City who each drew three and lose one. At the end of the season, it can be the difference in the closest competition.
