Sierra Leone has announced a national emergency following increased deaths cause by a killer drugs made of human bones.
The drug, commonly known as Kush is made of human bones and other ingredients. Human bones is the main ingredient and it contains sulphur which make is very addictive as it enhances it effectiveness.
Other ingredients used to make Kush includes toxic chemicals, herbs, cannabis and disinfenctants.It’s reported that Kush addicts dig out human human skeletons in graves and ground bones to make the drugs.
The drug contains psychoactive substance which is addictive and cause mental problems as the country has reported a surge in mentally ill people.
Police have heightened security in the cemeteries across Sierra Leone in order to stop the manufacturing, distribution and use of the “death smoke”.
According to Sierra Leone president Julius Maada Bio, the drug is posing a threat in the country.
On Thursday, President Maada said: “Our country is currently faced with an existential threat due to the ravaging impact of drugs and substance abuse, particularly the devastating synthetic drug kush.”
He has directed officials to National Task Force on Drugs and Substance Abuse to work on combating the the use of Kush.Additionally, many people have been hospitalized with failed organs as a result of smoking kush..
