NAIROBI Kenya Oct 30-President William Ruto has lead govt officials in overseeing the opening of examination materials at Kikuyu Township Primary School, Kiambu as KCPE, KPSEA kick off.
Accompanied by the Education CS Ezakiel Machogu, Kiambu governor Kimani Wa Matangi, the leader of majority Kimani Ichungwah among others, interacted with the candidates and invigilators and wished the candidates in the school success.
The president also had the chance to supervise the commencement of the exams at the school where he helped in distributing the exam papers to the students and also rung the bell to signify the start of the examinations.
He also wished the 1.2 million grade 6 candidates together with the 1.4 million in KCPE success as they start their exams.
“As our children begin their exams this morning, we pray for their success. We are with them in this journey; we have provided enough space for their progress in education,” the president has stated.
President Ruto further assured that the government together with the parents and teachers will always support the students as they upgrade to either grade seven level and the secondary school level and also during this period of the national examination.
The president has further assured that every child in Kenya is guaranteed of an opportunity as he moves to the next level after the examinations.
“As you go into the exam room, know that you are not alone, you parents are there, your teachers are there, your leaders are there, and the government of Kenya is with you, so be confident, do you best, carry out the exam, knowing very well that we have an opportunity for each and every child of Kenya as you move to the next stage,” the president stated in his speech today,’ stated the president in his speech today.
