President William Ruto has embarked on an official visit to Germany and France, in his efforts to boost economic ties with Germany, France, and the EU.

According to a press statement issued by the statehouse spokesperson, Hussein Mohamed, the visit aims to advocate strong global consensus on climate action ahead of COP 28.

The trip is set to last from November 20-21. In Berlin Germany, the president will showcase Kenya as the leading investment destination in the region and advance discussions about labor mobility with Germany.

Further, the president also aims to cement Germany Kenya cooperation on Green energy initiatives including the production of green hydrogen and rehabilitation of Oljaria geothermal fields and grid stabilization.

“The president will showcase Kenya as a leading investment destination in the region, make a case of strengthening economic ties between the EU and the East Africa community, advance discussions on labor mobility with Germany, and consolidate Germany-Kenya cooperation on Green energy initiatives,” said Hussain Mohammed.

In his visit to France, the head of state will address 705 member strong legislative and policy organ of the European Union, where he will expound on the country’s vision on climate action and elaborate on the economic impact of deepening trade relations between Kenya and the EU.
