Police arrests suspect in connection to Starlet Wahu’s murder

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 6 – Police in Makadara have arrested the main suspect in connection to the murder of a 26-year-old socialite Starlet Wahu.

John Matara who police now believe to be the boyfriend of Wahu was arrested at a city hospital where he had gone to seek medical assistance from the visible cuts on his body following the altercations leading up to Wahu’s murder.

Wahu’s lifeless body was found in an Air BNB apartment in Nairobi’s South B area drenched in a pool of blood with multiple stabs on her body. According to a police report seen by Capital FM the scene had several items among them a knife and broken glasses believed to have been used in the cold blood murder of Wahu.

”The scene was accessed and the house opened, a lifeless body of a middle aged lady was found lying lifeless in the sitting room of the one bedroom house(.) it was lying in fetal position facing down while naked with a pool of blood(.) it had stab wounds; in the head near the left ear and on the right thigh. there were also other visible injuries on the body and her clothes were on the sofa set(.) the blood was all over towards the bedroom which showed signs of struggle,” read the police report in part.

Matara was arrested at a city hospital where he had gone to receive treatment from the deep wounds from the altercations with Wahu.

CCTV footage now making rounds on social media reveled Matara and the deceased exchanging pleasantish at the entrance of the lift leading to the room which they had rented to had rented to spend a good time before she would later be murdered in cold blood.

It begs the question what could have gone wrong between the two. Matara is currently being held at Industrial area police station.
