Omanyala And His Brother Called For World Athletics Relay Trials

Athletics Kenya has revealed the list of invited athletes for the World Athletics Relays national trials and brothers Ferdinand Omanyala and Isaac Omurwa top the invite list.

Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, and his younger brother Isaac Omurwa top the list of athletes invited for the World Athletics Relays national trials. 

The global event is scheduled for May 4-5 (Saturday and Sunday) in the Bahamas and athletes will compete for tickets to the world show. Omanyala and Omurwa hope to participate in the race and compete as brothers in the first world championships.

Other Kenyan players named in the event include Boniface Mweresa, Hesborn Ochieng, and Tyson Omondi. National champion Zablon Ekwam, Wiseman Were and Mike Mokamba. Others who will join Omanyala and his brother include Brian Onyari, Elkanah Chemelil, Samuel Toili, and Nicholas Kessio.

Meanwhile, reigning 800m world champion Mary Moraa has also been invited on the women’s side. Moraa will join strong contenders including Millicent Ndoro, Esther Mbagari, Eunice Kadogo, and Lilian Aoko.

Other sports stars to descend on the Nyayo National Stadium include striker Rukia Nusra, Monica Safania, Jane Chege, and Maureen Thomas. There will be no rest for Mary Moraa when the Kip Keino Classic will be contested against the upcoming British opponent

Kenyan players are proud to announce that players from Uganda and Tanzania have confirmed their participation in the event. Also, it was noted that all invitees will collect their in person on Friday 5th at the Nyayo National Stadium from 9 am to 6 pm.
