NAIROBI, NOVEMBER 24 – The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Industry, through the State Department for Industry, has signed agreements with 10 governors to implement County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs).

According to the Ministry of Trade Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, these agreements will mark a crucial step in the country’s journey to become a newly industrialized, middle-income nation by 2030.

This will provide a high quality life for all citizens while ensuring a clean and secure environment.

CS Miano stated that the implementation of County Aggregation Parks is expected to unlock the immense potential within both the manufacturing and agricultural sectors.

“County aggregation parks will unlock the immense potential within both the manufacturing and Agricultural sector’s, leading to increased employment, enhance farmer’s income, and the export of agro-processed products,” Miano stated.

With a vision to elevate manufacturing’s contribution to Kenya’s GDP, the Ministry aims to increase its current 7% share to 15% by 2027 and 20 per cent by 2030.

The collaborative development and implementation of the County Aggregation Parks project will be undertaken jointly by the National Government and County Governments, with a total investment of Ksh500 million.

This initiative is poised to change the manufacturing and agricultural sectors, stimulating economic growth and transforming the lives of Kenyan citizens.

The County Aggregation Parks will create a conducive environment for manufacturers and farmers, providing them with the necessary infrastructure, resources, and support to thrive.

These parks will not only boost employment opportunities but also increase the income of farmers through value addition and the export of agro-processed products.

The collaboration between the National Government and County Governments demonstrates a united effort to achieve the country’s industrialization goals.
