The training kicked off on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, as the first batch of 14 players arrived at the training grounds following their journey the previous day. The initial lineup comprises a combination of seasoned veterans and promising talents, including goalkeeping Patrick Matasi, Brian Bwire, and Bryne Odhiambo.

The national team is eagerly awaiting the arrival of seven more key players, notably Joseph Okumu, Brian Mandela, Collins Sichenje, Erick Ouma, Rooney Onyango, Masoud Juma, and Michael Olunga, who are expected to link up with the squad in the coming days. A particular focus rests on the availability of influential defender Daniel Anyembe, who couldn’t make the initial traveling team due to club-related issues. Coach Firat expressed optimism that Anyembe would be successfully released by his club and be ready for selection when Harambee Stars face off against Russia.
