The NCBA Golf Series is set to resume this Saturday, September 28, at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club, where golfers will compete in the latest qualifying leg of the tournament.

More than 300 participants are expected to take to the course, including home player and last year’s champion, John Odhiambo, who will be among those vying for the top honors in this leg of the series.

This round offers golfers a sought-after opportunity to qualify for the grand finale, which will be held at Muthaiga Golf Club in November.

In each qualifying event, six players including the top male and female golfers in Divisions One, Two, and Three, as well as the overall Junior winner will secure a place in the final.

The 2023 edition, which teed off at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club in February, has expanded beyond Kenya, featuring tournaments in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, as part of NCBA’s mission to promote golf across East Africa. So far, over 100 golfers have qualified for the finale, with the latest contenders emerging from the recent qualifier in Rwanda, held last weekend.

The Rwanda event, staged at Kigali Golf Resort and Villas, drew over 180 participants, with three golfers—Paul Ntaganda, Murekatete Alphonsine, and Bethlehem Umuzabibu securing spots in the finale based on their combined scores from two qualifying rounds in the country.

In addition to the Royal Nairobi leg, two more qualifiers at Nyali Golf and Country Club and Great Rift Valley Lodge are lined up ahead of the grand finale.
