Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Kenya has announced a reduction in its base lending rate for variable interest rate Kenya Shilling-denominated credit facilities from 13.77 percent to 13.59 percent per annum, effective November 1, 2025.

In a public announcement, the bank said the move is aimed at easing the cost of borrowing for its customers while maintaining competitiveness in the financial market.

“Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited (DTB) wishes to notify its esteemed customers and the general public that it has reduced the DTB Base Rate for variable interest rate Kenya Shilling denominated credit facilities from 13.77 percent per annum to 13.59 percent per annum, effective 1 November 2025,” the statement read in part.

DTB also clarified that the interest rate for variable rate credit facilities will continue to be determined using a combination of the bank’s base rate and a customer-specific margin.

“The methodology for calculating the interest rate for variable rate Kenya Shilling denominated credit facilities shall be the sum of DTB’s Base Rate and a Variable Margin representing the customer-specific Credit Risk Premium,” the bank stated.
