NAIROBI, DEC 13 – The government of Kenya on Tuesday signed a mega labor migration deal with Saudi Arabia. The cabinet secretary for Labor and Social Protection, Florence Bore, disclosed that Kenya is set to benefit from job opportunities in Saudi.
However, Bore while in Riyadh said that they met with recruitment agency Abdal Human resources on the recruitment of nurses.
“The firm has offered Kenya a job order for recruitment of 1000 nurses. Our meeting discussed the facilitation and requirements for the good of our Kenyans nurses,” Bore said.
Further, Bore reiterated that her ministry is committed to secure more jobs for Kenyans.
“Kenya has graduated 22,000 public health professionals including nurses. The goal remains to create employment opportunities for our skilled and unskilled workforce,” CS Bore added.
She confirmed that the government have signed a bilateral Labour Agreement for the recruitment of healthcare workers with the UK and North Ireland.
“Kenya is pursuing agreements with other markets including, Canada, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” she noted.

Consequently, Bore met with officials on Monday from Eitinaa Human Resources Company, which will continue to provide job opportunities for Kenyans. Additionally, she said the meeting would thrive best results while providing solutions to recruitment agencies.
“The company mostly deals with house nurses, caregivers, domestic workers, personal assistants, chefs and Nannies.”
She added, “I am delighted that the company gave their word to give 100 plus job opportunities for each category of workers.”
On the other hand, the CS spoke with Takamol and Musaned Officials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance job opportunities.

“We made a proposal for our Kenyan embassy in the kingdom of Arabia to be granted access to the Musaned system to enable them keep track of the immigrant workers,” she reiterated.
Bore, however, stated that government has sourced for collaborations in the sector of professional and Accreditation bodies.
“We have sourced Professional and Accreditation bodies with an aim of adopting best practices.
This will incorporate technological advancements in addressing the dynamics of the global labor markets,” added Bore.
