Nairobi Kenya Oct 30-The Cabinet secretary for Public service has held a meeting with Development Partners to inform them of the Public Service Performance and Delivery Transformation Rapid Results Initiative that is set to roll out in November.
According to Kuria’s statement which he posted on X, He said that the aim of the meeting is to share knowledge,best practice and seek partnership.
“In the company of PS for Public Service, Mr Amos Gathecha, PS for Performance & Delivery Management Veronica Nduva, held a roundtable discussion with our Development Partners where I apprised them of the Public Service Performance and Delivery Transformation Rapid Results Initiative that is scheduled to roll out in November with an aim of sharing knowledge, best practice and seek partnership’ said Kuria on his X handle.
The CS noted that in the meeting, they discussed Wajibika Town Hall Forums which will be held across the 47 counties in the country dubbed “Taking the Government to the People.” He said that these forums will provide a platform for Kenyans to review government performance on various programmes and projects in their regions and establish a scorecard.
He further stated that they are planning to transform NYS into a mandatory leadership college and increase the number of recruits to 100,000 by the year 2027.
CS Kuria further said that they are Developing Pasha – a digital tool – for the public to provide feedback on the delivery of government services in their respective regions and providing monthly reports on the same for the public and the media to access.
Kuria said that they will Increase Huduma Centres from 52 to 1000 to ensure that they provide government services at the grassroots level.
“Performance and delivery remain a key focus in our operations because what gets measured ultimately gets done,” Kurias’ statement read.
