NAIROBI, KENYA OCT 18-Roam marks a great milestone as they launch the first ever locally assembled electric Roam move bus in their commitment to provide clean and efficient urban mobility solution.
The technology company that develops, designs and deploys electric vehicles unveiled the 51 passenger capacity bus at the green park terminus in Nairobi today.
With the rise of fuel prices, the Roam move electric shuttle promises a quieter, cleaner and a more economically efficient way to move around the city and reducing the urban transportation carbon footprint.
”We are thrilled to officially launch the Roam Move bus operation and introduce an innovative, sustainable transportation solution to the city of Nairobi. We believe this will revolutionize the way people travel within the city, making it more convenient and eco-friendly,” said Dennis Wakaba, Country Sales Executive at Roam.
Some of the key benefits owners will get to enjoy from the Roam move buses include; operating expenses will see a reduction of over 50%, a discount of 40% on every roam electric bus using the Nairobi express way and since the bus is locally made.
To clearly elaborate the cost effectiveness of the Roam move buses, the total ownership cost of a diesel bus is in 10 years is roughly ksh 67 million while the Roam move bus is ksh42 million thus indicating that the owner of the bus will save over 25 million including a 75 % saving on maintenance expenses.
The bus Is also built to accommodate the highest degree of comfortableness around the passengers where it is very spacious and the seats are made from plastic to reduce the absorption of dust and also reduce the infestation of insects.
The bus has zero noise pollution and eliminates all air pollution by remarkably reducing the emissions of co2 by 85%.
Roam move bus also has a 200km range on a single charge where the bus takes 1 hour 40 minutes to go from 20% to 100%.The vehicle is also said to charge itself when the driver hit the brake pedal.
