The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially distanced itself from a presidential term limit memorandum submitted by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei to the National Dialogue Committee at Bomas of Kenya.
The party distances itself from Cherargei’s proposal to increase the presidential term limit from the current 5 years to 7 years as proposal by Cherergei. In a statement seen by JEDCA MEDIA, UDA expressed its commitment to respecting and upholding the personal views of its members, including Cherargei’s, but stressed that these views do not necessarily reflect the stance of the UDA party or its leader President William Ruto.
The party underscored President Ruto’s oath to respect, uphold, and defend the constitution, which contains clear and comprehensive provisions regarding presidential term limits.
