Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has told off president William Ruto and his allies to stop blaiming him for the economic problems that the country is facing.
Speaking in Ukambani where he had attended a church service, Kenyatta castigated Kenya Kwanza administration for turning the blame to him instead of working to resuscitate the economy.
Kenyatta said that he’s been blamed and received threats (referring to the raid at his son’s residence in Karen) whenever Ruto regime fails on its mandate. He said that he is still an Azimio supporter and that he is not a person who changes his stand easily.
“We have been threatened, we’ve been told this and that whenever he (Ruto) failed to do his mandate he points a finger to the past regime. We are used to it. I am still a supporter of Azimio,” Kenyatta declared.
Recently, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked Kenyans to pray for Kenya Kwanza administration saying that the country that they inherited was not in a good state.
“You need to pray for for Dr Ruto. The country he has inherited is not a very sweet story. It’s a difficult story,” Gachagua said.
President Ruto on the other hand said that up to 65% of the taxes that his regime is collecting goes to pay the the debts. This comes even as Kenyans complains about the rising taxes that the regimes has imposed on them.
“We are chained to many debts. 65% of all the taxes we use to pay debt,” President Ruto said.
