Sanlam Kenya Rebrands to SanlamAllianz, Targets Top Three Rank

Sanlam Kenya has officially rebranded to SanlamAllianz Kenya as the listed financial services firm positions itself for accelerated growth and a top-three ranking in Kenya’s insurance industry.

The name change to Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC, now trading as SanlamAllianz Kenya, follows the recent joint venture between South Africa’s Sanlam and global insurer Allianz creating Africa’s largest non-banking financial services provider with a combined 200 years of operational experience across the continent.

Confirming the rebrand, SanlamAllianz Kenya Group CEO Dr Nyamemba Patrick Tumbo said the transition marks a renewed commitment to offering high-quality, technology-driven insurance solutions tailored to local needs.

“The rebrand heralds a new dawn for us as SanlamAllianz, enhancing our corporate commitment to advance our market effectiveness in the provision of quality, client-focused life and general insurance products,” said Dr Tumbo.

He added that the company’s subsidiaries SanlamAllianz Life Insurance Kenya, and SanlamAllianz General Insurance Kenya, will continue under the new identity. The rebrand follows both shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Dr Tumbo said SanlamAllianz Kenya will leverage the broader SanlamAllianz technical expertise and financial strength to enhance customer experience, boost distribution networks, and deploy innovative digital platforms.

SanlamAllianz currently operates in 26 countries and holds a combined group equity value of over 33 billion rand (about 2 billion euros).

SanlamAllianz Group CEO Mr Heinie Werth reinforced the company’s growth ambitions across Africa.

“Our ambition as SanlamAllianz is to be among the top-three players in all our markets, and we will provide our full support to SanlamAllianz Kenya as it strives towards this ambition,” said Mr Werth.

He noted that achieving this goal will require a shared-value approach involving staff, clients, business partners, shareholders, local markets and communities.

SanlamAllianz Kenya says the shift to a globally recognized brand will unlock opportunities for cross-border collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation ultimately enabling it to deliver best-in-class solutions and support financially confident and prosperous communities.
