The Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs and Arts, Ismail Maalim Madey on Tuesday 3rd October 2023, encouraged the youths to pursue their passion and dreams in the Orange economy and innovation.

While launching the Cultural Week at KCA University, Maalim urged the youths to make good use of the platforms like theater and film industry together with visual arts to sharpen their skills, create jobs and to contribute to the national economy.

“I want to encourage you students to pursue your passion and dreams in the orange economy and innovation,” he said.

Maalim also said that the government has rolled out several initiatives and resources to support the youths through the projects such as Talanta Hela which is able to help the youths identify their talents and skills.

“The government has raided several initiatives and resources available to support youths through the flagship project like Talanta Hela,” he stated.

Maalim added that the government is also investing in innovation hub across the country to help young people with creative innovative venture and also refurbishing the Nairobi film center with a sitting capacity of 850 seats. This will present a unique opportunity to present cultural shows and films and make money.

“We are investing in innovation hubs across the country to help young people hone their skills,” he added.

He also announced that the government will be hosting two major events in December that are of interest to the youths. The Kenya Innovation Week Common wealth edition that will be held on from 27th November to 1st December 2023 and Africa Youth Connect Summit to be held from 8th to 13th December 2023.
