NAIROBI, KENYA NOVEMBER 22 – More than 4,000 counterfeit alcoholic drinks have been siezed this morning, at a store along Kirinyaga Road in Nairobi.
According to the police report, pieces of 250ml bottles were nabbed by Economic and Commercial Crime Unit detectives together with KRA officers. However, the recovery comprised of mixed brands of the illicit liquor with an estimated value of Ksh984,000.

The package was escorted to a KRA warehouse while seizure notice was issued to the suspect. “As the crackdown christened Operation Uchumi heightens, further investigation are going to establish the source of the counterfeit drinks,” police said.
