Speaking at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Onyonka said little is known about the university funding model yet the government decided to implement it anyway.
He said many stakeholders in the education do not understand the model despite the government’s incessant implementation.

The Kisii Senators took a swipe on parliament, terming it as part of the problem bedeviling the country. He said the country is broken and requires intelligent people step up to sort the mess, without which the status quo will remain unchanged.
“Parliament is part of the problem. We are discussing a program that is supposed to provide funding to university students which is already implemented and the implementers know nothing about it. Your country is broken down, unless intelligent and clever people sit down to fix some of this nonsense you see here, nothing is going to happen,” Onyonka said.
