NLC to Allocate 2,454 Hectares in Taita Taveta for Conservancy Use

The National Land Commission (NLC) has announced its intention to regularize the tenure of a 2,454-hectare parcel of land in Taita Taveta County for conservancy use, on behalf of the county government.

According to the notice, the land identified as LR No. 12922 will be allocated 30 days from the date of publication, provided there are no valid objections from the public.

“Notice is hereby given that at the expiry of 30 days from the date of publication of this notice, the National Land Commission, on behalf of the County Government of Taita Taveta, intends to regularize tenure of LR No. 12922 in Taita Taveta County measuring 2,454 hectares for conservancy use,” reads part of the notice signed by NLC Chairman Gershom Otachi Bw’Omanwa.

Members of the public wishing to raise objections have 15 days from the date of publication to submit their comments to the NLC Chairman.

In the absence of valid objections, the allocation process will take place at the NLC’s offices in Nairobi on the next working day following the expiry of the notice period.

“The terms of allocation are available at the Commission’s offices in Nairobi and the office of the NLC County Coordinator in Taita Taveta County,” the notice adds.
