In a surprising turn of events, Mary Moraa, the reigning Commonwealth Games 800m champion, shocked the crowd as she secured her place in the women’s 800m final at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Competing in Heat Three, Moraa astonished everyone by clocking an impressive 1:57.92 to cross the finish line, showcasing an extraordinary performance that left the spectators in awe. Heat Two witnessed a fierce battle, as Jemma Reekie faced tough competition from USA’s Raevyn Rogers, who finished just milliseconds behind with a time of 2:00.30. Jamaica’s Natoya Goule demonstrated remarkable resilience, securing her spot in the final by finishing third in 2:00.78.

Kisii Express now finds herself on an extraordinary journey, emerging as Kenya’s sole representative at the event. With her remarkable semifinal performance, she has become the dark horse to watch. Once again, she will face off against formidable opponents Hodgkinson and Mu, both of whom are well aware of her potential after their encounter during last year’s World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The Ugandan contender, Nakaayi, also adds to the intrigue, as she seeks to reclaim the gold medal and reassert her dominance in the event, setting the stage for an electrifying final showdown.
