Kenyan start-up HustleSasa has been named one of 10 finalists selected for the NBA Africa’s “Triple-Double: NBA Africa Startup Accelerator” program.
HustleSasa, which specializes in live event services such as payment processing, attendee check-in, and merchandise sales, will showcase its innovation at the NBA Africa Demo Day on September 25 in New York.
The program, which began in April 2024, is part of NBA Africa’s broader mission to support Africa’s burgeoning tech ecosystem.

The selected finalists, representing seven African nations, will pitch their products to an international panel of industry leaders.
The panel will then determine four winners who will receive financial backing, mentorship, and the opportunity to participate in workshops and development initiatives led by NBA Africa and its partners. NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi emphasized the company’s dedication to expanding its presence on the continent by supporting start-ups through this competition.
“NBA Africa is committed to supporting the continued growth of startups on the continent, including the four prize-winners whose innovative solutions will further elevate the sport and creative industries in Africa for years to come,” he stated.

Akamanzi added that the initiative is key to enhancing Africa’s tech landscape by offering start-ups access to mentorship and capital, fueling growth in the sports and creative sectors across the continent.
Other selected startups include Backrest (Rwanda), Buzza (Nigeria), Festival Coins (Nigeria), Gara (Côte d’Ivoire), Naemo Global (Nigeria), Power to Girls Foundation (Ghana), Salubata (Nigeria), UBR VR (Egypt), and Vambo Technologies (South Africa).
