The All African Games came to an end on Saturday, with Egypt emerging as the most successful nation, winning a total of 191 medals in various competitions.
Of these, Egypt won 101 gold medals, 46 silver medals, and 44 bronze medals.
Nigeria also shined in all African sports as they secured second place in the medal table with 47 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze medals won in 25 different competitions.
Weightlifting is the most successful sport in Nigeria, contributing to the medal tally with 16 gold, 10 silver and 60 bronze medals.

The game is closely followed as the second most successful game in Nigeria in this game, collecting 22 awards.
South Africa and Algeria took third and fourth place respectively in the medal table, while Tunisia finished in the top five.
The Kenyan team put in an impressive performance, finishing 10th overall with a total of 37 medals. Among the notable achievements in Kenya are eight gold medals, eight silver medals, and 21 bronze medals.
Chepng’etich outrun Ethiopians to win gold in 10,000 race
Kenya’s Janeth Chepng’etich clocked 33:37.00 to win the women’s 10,000 after the four-day running event began at the University of Ghana Stadium. Ethiopia took the next three places as Belew Kefale (33:38.37) and Tekan Behre (33:51.50) won silver and bronze respectively. Another Ethiopian Ayana Mulisa (34:45.37) rounded out the top four.
