Apple has released a new update that will connect iPhones to Starlink satellites. This means that users can send messages from virtually anywhere.
Apple collaborated with SpaceX and T-Mobile to build this feature. Currently, only select T-Mobile users in the U.S. have the ability to use this feature, however, Apple plans to roll this feature out to wider audiences in the future. Users will have the ability to send texts at first, but later on, may receive the ability to make phone calls.

In order to gain access to this feature, you will need an iPhone 14 or a newer model. This update will be useful for people traveling to more secluded areas where there is little to no cell signal. This feature can also be extremely useful in emergencies when a person needs to call for help.
Some years ago, they launched SOS Emergency via satellite, which enabled people to send emergency messages when there was no cell service. The new Starlink connection is even better because it will allow users to send regular messages as well as make calls.
Other companies like Google and Samsung are also looking into this technology according to a report by Forbes.
