Kenya’s Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary, Rebecca Miano, has announced that all national parks and reserves will offer free entry to Kenyan citizens on September 28, 2024, in celebration of UN World Tourism Day.

Speaking during the World Rhino Day event in Samburu County, Miano urged citizens to take advantage of this opportunity to experience the nation’s rich wildlife and natural beauty.

She also called out citizens to follow important safety guidelines during their visits.

“The culmination of this significant event will allow Kenyans free access to all game parks and reserves on Saturday, September 28, 2024. I encourage Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to see what our parks and reserves have to offer… I assure the global community that Kenya will continue playing its part in wildlife conservation, especially in expanding rhino ranges and ensuring their protection for posterity,” she said.
