Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has appointed a 7-member team to investigate aircraft accidents following the tragic helicopter crashed that claimed Kenya’s Chief of Defense General Fransis Ogolla and nine other KDF officers.
In a gazette notice dated 19 April, Murkomen appointed Capt. Peter Maranga as the chairperson of the team and will be deputized by Frederick Aggrey.

Maranga led-team will review all the preliminary accident reports for accidents involving Kenya registered and operated aircraft presented by the Republic of South Sudan and the Federal Republic of Somalia for the last five (5) years.
The team has three months to do the investigation and give recommendations on prevention of aircraft accidents and improve aviation safety in the country.
