President William Rut has defended his frequent trips broad saying that he is looking for jobs and investment opportunities for Kenyans. He said that sooner, Kenyans will see the fruits of his frequent foreign trips.
“I am not travelling as a tourist, I travel to make plans for Kenya and to connect Kenyans to jobs and investment opportunities and soon, you will see what I have been doing,” Ruto said.
He was speaking in Kisii county at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School. The head of state said that in the next one and a half months, 10,000 will leave Kenya to work abroad adding that he will ensure that one million Kenyans will get jobs abroad so that they can bring dollars in order to curb the dollar shortage in the country.
“We have plans on labor bilateral agreement with several countries for example the next one and a half months we will have 10,000 Kenyan who will depart to go and work abroad and that work will continue until we ensure that one million Kenyans are working outside Kenya so that they can bring dollars to solve our dollar shortage,” Ruto explained.
Number of trips
Ruto has made more than 50 trips abroad spending billions of dollars on the same. He has vehemently defended his trips arguing that the trips are vital in bringing investors to Kenya as well as securing job opportunities for Kenyans.
