United States President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a new company called Stargate to build Artificial Intelligence infrastructure in the US.
Flanked by tech and AI CEOs, Trumps said Stargate will be the biggest AI infrastructure in history. The company will invest up to $500 billion in the next four years.
“Beginning immediately Stargate will be building the physical and virtual infrastructure to power the next generation advancement in AI and this will include the construction of colossal data centers,” Trump said.
Stargate is a private partnership initiative with Open AI, Oracle and SoftBank taking part in building AI infrastructure project and it has plans to expand nationwide. The project is expected to create 100,000 jobs.

According to Trump, the AI development project is a strategic priority. Trump acknowledged the AI competition, noting that China is one of the competitors. Stargate requires massive electricity which Trump promised to help in building an electricity generation plant.
Stargate project and Healthcare
Oracle Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison gave a glimpse of how the Stargate project is going to revolutionize healthcare in the world. According to Elisson, the AI applications that will be developed by Stargate will not only help in keeping medical records but also enable collaboration between health professionals worldwide in treatment of diseases.
“AI holds incredible promise for every American.. The kind of applications that we are building (to give you an idea) is electronic health records, not just maintaining health records but by looking at electronic records {and} doctors understanding the conditions of their patients and being able to provide healthcare plan that are much better than they would otherwise be,” Ellison said.
SoftBank CEO Masayosi Son said the project is not only about business but it will help solve people’s problems “with the power of AI.” He said this is the beginning of the golden age where super intelligent AI will be developed to solve problems that mankind would not imagine that it would solve.
“This is not just for business. This will help solve many issues, difficult things that otherwise we would not solve. This is the beginning of the golden age,” Masayosi said.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that Stargate will be the most important project in this era and it will create a lot of jobs and industries as well as delivering cutting edge healthcare technology to cure diseases.
“This will be the most important project in this era. {It will} create hundreds of thousands of jobs and new industries centered here {in America}. I believe that as this technology progresses diseases will be cured at an unprecedented rate. We will be amazed how quickly we can cure cancer and ability to deliver high quality healthcare,” Altman said.
