In a successful operation by the multi-agency security team attached to ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu North-Rift’, 250 goats that had been stolen within Kapedo Dam near Kapedo Village have been recovered.

The recovery operation took place yesterday evening, 11th June, 2023, and the goats were later today taken to the General Service Unit Kapedo Camp where they were handed over to the rightful owner. The National Police Service has expressed its sincere appreciation to the local communities for their continued support in ensuring the return to normalcy in the North Rift.
The Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) in Turkana East Sub-County, John Kiptala praised the multi-agency security team for their outstanding work in recovering the stolen goats. He noted that the operation is part of a larger effort by the government to curb insecurity in the region.

“The multi-agency security team has once again demonstrated their commitment to securing the lives and property of residents in the North Rift. We are grateful for their dedication and professionalism in carrying out this operation,” said Kiptala.
