Tension remains high between Iran and Israel following Israel’s retaliatory attacks in Iran.
Iran launched missiles and drone attacks following Israeli air strike on the Iran consulate in Damascus, Syria.
The two countries have been on a shadow war for a long period of time, until early this year where things seemed to turn in a different direction.
On Friday 1st April 2024, an Airstrike was launched to the Iranian Embassy at Damascus, which killed General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a Senior commander in Islamic Revolutionary Guard and other Iranians.
Although Israel did not confirm the attack, Iran blamed them and threatened to avenge.
Iran responded with its first ever direct attack on Israel late Saturday night of April 13th 2024, launching over 300 missiles and attack drones to Israel.
Only five ballistic missiles made it to Israeli territory since most of the missiles were shot down outside the Israeli border with the help of the United States, United Kingdom and Jordan who also assisted in informing Israel about the attack.

“We, the leaders of the G7, unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms Iran’s direct and unprecedented attack against Israel,” Italy secretary Antonio Tajani said.
An affirmation was also made for the commitment on Israel’s security, “we express our solidarity and support to Israel and its people and reaffirm our commitment towards its security,” added Tajani.
Tension and fear has escalated in Hamas and Islamic Jihad following the recent activities from Iran and Israel, with each of the rivals having their allies backing.
