ODM leader Raila Odinga recently spilled beans that president William Ruto sought him out to him to salvage his government from collapsing following weeks of protests by Gen Z.

Raila said Ruto went to him in knees requesting ODM members to help him in government after Ruto’s men failed to solve the problems bedeviling Kenyans.

“They [Kenya Kwanza] were overwhelmed with work. They dissolved the cabinet and came to us in their knees to help them,” Raila said.

The former prime minister likened Gen Z demonstration to his protests last year indicating that the issues that have been raised by the young people are similar to the ones he raised during his anti-government demos.

“Last year we were on the road (protesting). We were protesting high cost of living, lack of jobs for youths and Gen Z have also raised [similar issues]. We have demanded that all these issues be sorted out,” he said.
