Mary Moraa is set to participate in the 1000m long distance race and not the usual 800M in Silesia diamond league.
The Olympic 800m bronze medallist hoped to claim a gold medal at the Paris Olympics but was forced to settle for bronze behind Keely Hodgkinson and Tsige Duguma.
She now heads to Silesia to contest the 1000m as she builds up for the Diamond League Meeting final.

The last time she raced the longer distance in 2021 when she won the KBC Nacht van de Atletiek in Belgium and finished 10th in the same event at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia.
Other competitors in the race
Moraa is expected to face tough competition from Jamaica’s Natoya Goule-Toppin, who will be out to improve on her performance following the Olympic Games setback where she could not make the final.
Uganda’s Halimah Nakaayi, the 2019 world champion will also be in the mix, looking to bounce back to winning ways after a turbulent season.

American Nia Akins will also be lining up for the race after failing to make the final of the women’s 800m at the Olympic Games.
Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie will be in after faltering in the Paris Olympic Games where she failed to impress.
Moraa will enjoy the company of Vivian Chebet who will be debuting over the distance. She made her Olympic debut in Paris and reached the semifinal.
