The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has launched a nationwide recruitment drive for assessors to oversee oral and practical components of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
According to an official notice, the exercise will run from June 10 to July 30, 2025.
The council is targeting qualified secondary school teachers and college tutors to assess eight specialized subjects, including Power Mechanics, Electricity, Aviation Technology, and Music Practical, among others.
KNEC noted that the selected assessors will receive on-the-job training during the 2025 KCSE assessment period.

However, teachers already in the KNEC database of assessors are not required to apply.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject areas.
- Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or another recognized professional body.
- Hold at least a diploma in education or a relevant specialization.
- Have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
- Be 50 years of age or below.
- Not be under interdiction or facing disciplinary action.
For those applying to assess Aviation Technology, a diploma in Aeronautical Engineering is mandatory. All applicants must also be endorsed by their institution heads.
Interested candidates are required to apply through the KNEC examiners’ portal.
Those with CP2 accounts should use their login credentials, while new users are required to create an account and follow the outlined application process.
KNEC emphasized that only candidates who meet all criteria and submit complete documentation will be shortlisted.
