Kenya Police in Haiti Salaries to be Paid This Week, Agency Says

The Agency overseeing the Multi Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti has said that the disbursement of Kenya police salaries has been finalized and it’s expected to reflect in their bank accounts this week.

In a statement released on Sunday, August 25, the agency disclosed that the process of disbursing the salaries had been finalized.

“The process for the disbursement of salaries to the MSSM officers accounts has been finalized and it is expected that the same will soon be reflected in their individual bank accounts in the course of this week,” read part of the statement from the mission.

Its now two month since the Kenya police were deployed in Haiti mission to fight the gang that is against the Haiti Government.

However, the team and their families sent to Haiti mission complains that they have not received the salary increment that the Agency said to top up.

The Kenyan police sent to Haiti are supposed to receive an additional of at least sh100,000 paid to their account every month.

The Agency said on Monday that going forward they will have an elaborate mechanism to put in place where payments will be promptly done at the end of the month.

“We are happy to report that the concerned body has moved with speed to put in place elaborate mechanism and framework which have operationalized the usage of the Trust Find,” read the statement.

The statement indicates that since the deployment of the police officer in Haiti ,several milestone have been achieved.

“MSSM continues to appreciate the existing provided amenities in terms of welfare as other logistics are being mobilized to make the mission a success,” The agency said.

Additionally, the Agency said the MSSM officers have been enjoying and continue to make use of the available communication and interactive systems which have enabled then to communicate with their love ones back at home.
