In what can only be described as a daring and audacious jailbreak, two robbery with violence suspects have escaped from police custody at Kakamega police station. The suspects, Denis Indeche and Allan Kemoli, are considered extremely dangerous and have been on the run for hours now. Indeche in particular was being hunted by police for his alleged involvement in several armed robberies, including an attack on a senior DCI officer. The escape of the two suspects has sent shockwaves across the country and police are urging members of the public to be vigilant and report any sightings.
“Indeche, had been arrested 3 days ago by sleuths from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau, after being on the run for weeks,” DCI said in a statement.
Two police officers who were on duty at the time of the jailbreak have been taken into custody to assist with investigations. “Meanwhile, two police officers who were on duty when the duo escaped have since been placed in custody to assist with investigations,” DCI added.
The escape of the suspects raises questions about the security measures at the station and has left many wondering how the suspects were able to escape undetected. Authorities have called on anyone with information that could lead to the capture of the escaped suspects to come forward and help bring them to justice.
