We all have our first love stories and this is mine. I have been brought up as an only child. My parents
had to be overprotective especially when it comes to boys and relationships but that did not stop me
from meeting my ‘prince charming’. We met through a mutual friend. He was a very attractive guy then,
he played rugby, he had muscles and was eloquent in his speech.
Since I was not allowed to have a phone, our communication had to depend on me. I had to inform our mutual friend when I would be available so he could pass the information to my ‘prince charming’. I had stories for days with my schoolmates, in high school to be precise. My desk and chair had his name written all over them just to claim him. I was madly in love.
Funny enough I don’t think we understood how people in relationships should behave or do. We
used to meet, talk sweet ‘nothing’, hug then make sure I have sneaked back home safely. That love was sweet when it lasted. One day we had a ‘funkie’ that happened to be in his school. You should have seen my joy going to meet the love of my life only to find out he lied he didn’t study there, and that there were other girls who fell victim to that. The trip back to school was very long. I was admitted for the first time at the sick bay. I was not sick, it was a heartbreak. I met him the other day, he is not charming anymore, I was just confused. ……. To be continued.. MAJU CHRONICLES
