NAIROBI, KENYA, OCT 24-The Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua travelled yesterday for a three day visit to Belgium where he will attend the Global Gateway forum Hosted by the European commission in Brusels.

The Deputy president will be on a duty to represent H.E. President William Ruto in the forum which aims at strengthening the relations between the European Union (EU) and its partners in key sectors such as digital innovation ,green energy, transport, healthcare and education.

“Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua,EGH, this evening(Monday, October 23, 2023), leaves the country for Belgium on a three day official visit.The Deputy President will represent H.E President William Ruto, at the global Gateway Forum hosted by the European Commission in the capital,Brussels,” stated a press released yesterday after his departure. 

The Deputy Presidents is also set to hold talks with the President of the European Commission Ursula Von der leyen regarding boosting bilateral ties between Kenya and the EU and will also engage with various actors in his efforts to seek better market for Kenyan Coffee.

He will also later travel to Germany where he will hold other engagements regarding coffee, climate change, renewable energy among others.

The Deputy  President will also visit Kenyans lining in Belgium at the Tangala Hotel in Brussels and also those living in Germany at the Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich
