NAIROBI,KENYA, OCT 24-The DCI detectives have arrested 10 suspects and managed to recover stolen goods following a surge breaking of bars in counties of Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Laikipia and Kirinyaga.

The suspects; Boniface Mutwiri, Patrick Mwenda, David Mwaki,Gideon Gitobu,Sharon Makena,Fidelias Kananu,Abdillahi Yussuf,Caroline Kanana,Boniface Kathiri and Martin Mwiti were arrested after a series of raids conducted by the DCI’s crime research detectives.

Detectives managed to raid stinger lounge which is owned by the alleged mastermind behind the bar breakings Geoffrey Muriuki who is yet to be captured, where they managed to recover stolen goods such as assorted alcoholic drinks, keg pumps, keg cylinders and others.

“In one of the raids and search conducted at stinger lodge bar owned by Geoffrey Muriuki who is believed to be the mastermind behind the breakings and as well as the notorious custodian of stolen goods, recovery of assorted alcoholic drinks, keg pumps, keg cylinders among other items was made,” stated the DCI in their statement.

Further,the detectives also managed to intercept vehicles belonging to the suspects and , inside the Toyota probox Reg No.KCA 836R driven by Gedion Gatobu, they managed to recover a panga, and a metal bar. The other Toyota probox Reg. No. KBK 075S driven by David Mwaki, they managed to recover two metal bars, two pairs of number plates and an empty sack.

They also raided Sharon Makena’s house and recovered goods which are believed to be stolen including; an LG TV, assorted drinks, keg pumps, an infinix phone and a camera. The DCI detectives are still leading the manhunt for the stinger lounge owner Geoffrey Muriuki.
